UPCOMING PINK SIGHTINGS
A Sympathetic Listener was a great success! For now Lauren, Ashley and I are getting back to normal life. Keep your eyes out for the PHA residency in SF!
Ok, here it is. Shortly, it will be January. This is a month, aside from coming insanely quickly and unexpectedly, which has been long anticipated! Why? one might ask... because Lauren Mathis and I will be premiering our first full length collaborative effort in San Francisco, California!!!
The premiere of
A Sympathetic Listener has a lot riding on it...
-it marks the first Pink Hair Affair tour (I will be flying to SF from Portland for two weeks of intensive rehearsing and performance. And Ashley Wood will be flying out from Philly!)
-we are being presented by the Women on the Way Festival (produced by Footloose). WOW is a performing arts festival, now in its ninth season, which focuses on bringing the cutting edge works of women artists to the Bay Area! check us out...

www.brownpapertickets.com-Lauren and I are collaborating with filmmaker Curtis Albucher and brother composers Evv'n'Flo and Ben Frankenstein. What a fantastically creative crew!
Can't wait to see you all there...otherwise there is a video teaser on youtube...

In PHA's Portland debut, I will be performing at Metro Dancers' annual Dance Mosaic, a repertory show. I will be showing a three minute excerpt from A Sympathetic Listener, which will premiere fully as a part of Footloose's Women on the Way Festival in San Francisco, January 2009.
Metro Dancers is a pre-professional ballet company who many Portland trained dancers have passed through. I grew up dancing there. I'm really excited to get to go back and perform there again!

Mosaic
Look for bunheads and bare feet, newbies and veterans at Mosaic, a community-minded concert. The modern dance contingent includes the Western Oregon University Dancers, the bewigged Pink Hair Affair, Jefferson Dance instructor Melissa St. Clair and Kinetic Images; Emily Sevy brings the jazz. Event organizer Metro Dancers, a company of pre- and former professionals, demonstrates its versatility with ballet, modern and character dance. Portland Metro Performing Arts, 9933 SE Pine St., 2 and 7 pm Saturday, Nov. 22. $15-$18.
I'm here...Its different and I miss Pink Hair Affair. So far I'm staking out places to take class. Oregon Ballet Theater has a pretty good modern class taught by Josie Moseley. I want to go check out Conduit, the modern dance center in Portland. There are a few people there who I am interested in taking class with. Soon I'll start looking into companies. My friend Eowyn dances for Body Vox 2, so hopefully she will be able to tell me a little about the scene here.
